Our newly launched Blush Woman series contains profiles of real and inspiring women who live authentic lives. They let us have a sneak peek into their self-care routines and how they live their lives, all from the heart with the intention to inspire and relate.
Drum roll ... our first Blush Woman is Angelica-Hazel, an incredibly generous and beautiful person who was one of my first business connections when starting my business! Wife & Mama of 2, BHSc Nutritionist, M Women’s Med (student), Fertility Educator, and Owner & Creator of the beautiful #sahabotanica tea blends we serve at your Blush Pause!
So all you need to do is sit back, listen to some blissful music, and read below for inspiration.
What's your fool-proof self-care move?
Getting out my diary and setting time aside each week to move my body (reformer pilates, walks and yoga). Also, doing a rough meal plan for the week ahead. To me, good nutrition and movement are paramount and I think looking after those aspects is the best form of self-care that you can get! I also completely switch off from work one day a week over the weekend and soak up all of the quality time with my family.
How long do you usually sleep for?
As long as my babies let me lol! I have a 4 month old and a nearly 3 year old so am still getting woken up in the night and early morning starts.
What's the first thing you do when you wake up?
Change my little ones' nappies and breastfeed my baby, followed by drinking a big glass of water and making nourishing breakfasts for my toddler and I.
Amount of time spent on beauty in the morning?
Not very long sadly. 5 minutes if it is just me at home with both kids and maybe 20 if my husband is home too.
"You need to fill up your own cup first. Self-care isn't selfish, it is essential."
What's your go-to breakfast and morning drink?
At the moment I am loving warm oats with coconut milk, stewed apples, nuts, seeds, cinnamon and a big dollop of natural yoghurt. I enjoy one almond milk latte most mornings or a cup of #SahaBotanica The Earl with a dash of milk.
What's your favourite sweat session?
Reformer pilates followed by mat pilates, barre, beach walks and yoga.
What's the last thing you do before you go to bed?
Read a few pages of a book - I am currently reading #shantaram and I can barely put it down it's so good!
What are your bedside beauty essentials?
A natural lip balm as I am prone to dehydration with breastfeeding and a big bottle of water. I also have a jade roller that I use once a week or when I remember to apply a face serum.
You have an incredible business. Can you please describe in 5 words what you love most about it?
Endless tea and supporting women's health.
Do yo have any further self-care tips for our guests? You need to fill up your own cup first. Self-care isn't selfish, it is essential.
